Gilded Moscow
Everything in Moscow is rooted in history. The founder of the city, Yury Dolgoruky was the Prince of Suzdal and later become the Grand Prince of Kiev. He gave a feast there, honouring his ally the Prince of Novgrod-Seversky Svyatoslav Olegovich, which became the benchmark for the Moscow's hospitality - "Come visit me, brother, in Moscov." The prince ordered a wooden citadel to be built and named the town - Moscow. In 1328, Moscow became the seat of the Grand Princes and Russia's metropolis. Today, Moscow apart from being the capital of the Russian Federation has also it's own legislation, emblem, flag and anthem.
Moscow, the capital of the Russian Federation, Kremlin, Red Square, Tveskaya Street, The Metro, The Cathedral of Christ the Saviour - The Spasskaya, Moscow State University, St. Basil the Blessed Cathedral, scenic boulevards- all entail so much history and culture! Leo Tolstoy said: "Every Russian looking at Moscow feels her to be their mother." Even for a foreigner, Moscow is the essence of Russia.
